Babysitter CPR AED + First Aid
This course is for prospective babysitters, aged 11-14 years of age, only. This course listing is for CPR AED + First Aid training only. For a comprehensive babysitter training course, please select “CABS: Child and Babysitting Safety + CPR AED and First Aid Certification”.
This course will cover the following topics:
- Sudden cardiac arrest and how to recognize an emergency
- CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) for adult, child and infant patients
- AED (automated external defibrillator) use for adult, child and infant patients
- Airway obstruction (choking) for adult, child and infant patients
- Working as a team to provide rescue efforts
- Pediatric specific first aid topics
- Primary assessment of a pediatric patient for first aid
- Medical Emergencies for pediatric patients
- Bleeding Control for pediatric patients
- Allergic reactions for pediatric patients
- Shock for pediatric patients
- Shaken Baby Syndrome
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive their Pediatric CPR AED + First Aid certification card. Digital certification cards are issued through the Health & Safety Institute (HSI) and are valid for 2 years. Cards are issued via email within 24 hours of completing your class.
